DIGITAL AND MEDIA LITERACY

This program has been started on may 16 ,2022 to empower the nuns digitally and technologically.Though , there is no internet available in the village as of now but soon it expected to have it.This is the project which runs in evening due to availability of electricity.Under this project , the nuns learns the basic concept of computer like MS WORD, Ms excel, powerpoint, data storage ,paint brush and video editing.The nuns learns the concepts under the supervision of skilled computer trainer.

WASTE MANAGEMENT

The students learns the ways of waste management by the activities designed by WIPRO ,EARTHAIAN.The nuns implement the doable method of reduce and reuse the garbage collected and segregated in the compound.

The nuns also organize monthly cleanliness drive in campus and annual cleanliness drive in the village in collaboration with the village.

BODHI PHILOSOPHY

Under the supervision of Geshe Tsewang Rigzin , the nuns of the monastery learn Buddhist philosophy and practice TAMCHA(Debate) in the evening everyday.This is to practice investigation to know the real essence of Buddhist scripture.

YOGA- JOURNEY TO INNERSELF

Yoga does not change the way we see things , it transforms the person who sees.we conduct yoga class everyday fo 30 minutes in the morning in order to unite our body and mind.The nuns of the changchub choeling have developed the habit of doing asanas everyday followed by meditation.

OUR CULTURE, OUR IDENTITY

Changchub choeling Nunnery has not left any stone unturnedto preserve the Buddhist and ladakhi culture.Under this project the nuns of the mon astery put their efforts to revive our culture.They learn Mane inscription, Mandala art, Manuscript writing etc.Also they display their art annually for public to propagate the message to preserve our culture.

ENGLISH AND HINDI CONVERSATION CLASS

To enhance the communication skill of the nuns daily language conversation class is c onducted in the evening under the supervision of a trained language teacher.This also develops a better understanding towards their set curriculum.

THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

It plays a crucial role in preparing students by providing vocational training.Vocational education is the course that helps students to acquire skills in specific trade or function.Considering all the benefits of Vocational Education and Training ,Changchup Choeling Nunnery,Zangla zanskar came up with a Project which gives children an opportunity to choose and learn a skill of their own interest.Kids will gain real time experience and practical learning.“National Education policy 2020” also highlights the importance and implementation of skill appreciation and craft centric learning.The policy very well mentions the importance of developing skills over theoretical or rote learning for the students.The Changchup Choeling Nunnery,Zangla zanskar aims towards holistic growth of the nuns.The nunnery hopes that learning new thing can help them to grow as a person and understand the world around them better.This will also make them well rounded and skilled.With this approach the nunnery began the Vocational Education and Training on 6th May 2023.Every Saturday has been designated as Vocational training day in which they will be learning Pebble painting,Thangka art ,Mandala art,Paper Quilling,Mane inscription,Scripture writing,stitching,embroidery etc.Also this training will play a vital role in preserving their cultural art which are degrading gradually in the fog of moderninty.Another beautiful aspect of this program is Peer learning.The nuns knowing one skill will exchange it for learning another skill from the other nuns
