Losar (Tibetan New Year)

The entire nunnery comes alive with vibrant celebration. Our nuns prepare traditional dishes, create intricate butter sculptures, perform sacred dances (cham), and engage in special prayers to bless the coming year.

Jang Gonchoe (Inter-Nunnery Debate)

Each year, nuns from seven major institutes across India and Nepal gather for an intensive month long debate session both rigorous training and joyful reunion.

Boomscore

Boomscore (Spring Harvest Ritual)

Rooted in the ancient traditions of Ladakh, Boomscore is a sacred spring ritual performed to invite abundant harvests and ward off ill omens. Each year, the nuns of Changchub Choeling Nunnery carry this living tradition into the villages of Zangla, Zanskar chanting prayers, sounding traditional instruments, and cleaning sacred stupas to restore their blessings for the community.
